All The Oils For Darker Skin

Oils Article.jpg

I’m obsessed with using oils in my beauty routine. Not only can they do wonders for your skin.. they’re decadent. Like yes, I just pounded a burrito bowl from Chipotle an hour ago but now I’m rubbing lavender oil on my face so I’m classy as hell.

In any case, most oils are pretty much fantastic for your skin – but there are a few that are especially good and that are especially more good for darker skin.

++ SUNDAY RILEY UFO ULTRA CLARIFYING OIL

Sunday Riley UFO Ultra Clarifying Oil is a magic potion of all the best oils in one bottle.

  1. Tea Tree Oil is antibacterial and antifungal and can treat acne, disinfect pores, and reduce inflammation. It can also lighten scars and restores the proper oil balance for your skin.
  2. Black Cumin Seed Oil is an excellent source of Vitamin B, which moisturizes the skin. It also has essential fatty acids that help clear out pores to prevent congestion. Even more, the oil has excellent anti-inflammatory properties so it’s good for those who have psoriasis or eczema. Its vitamin A, amino acids, and fatty acids work together to regenerate skin cells, which means that it also helps fade dark marks. This oil also has the extra goodies of 1.5% salicylic acid to clear congested pores, whose drying effects are countered by the oils. It also has licorice root which contains something called glabridin that brightens dark spots and evens skin tone.

++ CARROT SEED OIL

Carrot Seed Oil is another all-in-one choice and is the perfect antidote to dullness. It’s packed with beta carotene, vitamins A and C that can totally rejuvenate your skin. This super oil can moisturize dryness, plump fine lines and wrinkles, and fade imperfections.

++ PRICKLY PEAR OIL

Prickly pear oil, derived from a cactus, is my new favorite addition to my beauty routine. It’s rich in vitamin E, antioxidants, and amino acids that stimulate collagen production. It also has vitamin K that can brighten dark spots.

++ THE STAPLES

And if you’re looking for the staples – don’t forget about coconut oil, a go-to for both your skin and hair. It’s solid on its own but can be added to other oils (like tea tree) to boost the moisturizing factor. Another staple - although you probably haven’t used it in a while - is baby oil. Turns out, it’s not just for babies (or adult men). It’s a great moisturizer and a good option for sensitive skin.
