Japanese Beauty - Does It Work?
I’ll be honest – I’ve always been wary of Asian beauty. Being South Asian, I grew up with the dreadful Fair and Lovely (for the non-brown folk, that’s a skin bleaching cream that’s unfortunately too familiar to too many brown people). So that became my association with Asian beauty – and knowing that those same “whiteness” standards are pushed all across Asia – I decided to ex beauty from the entire continent.
But then I came across Japanese Fusion on Beauty Pie, a company started by Marcia Kilgore, So I (reluctantly) decided to give it another shot.
And let me tell you – I am in love. It works wonders on dark skin - no skin whitening included. Below is my new routine from Japanesefusion:
1. Pure Transforming Cleanser: This cleanser transforms from gel to oil to milk on your face. It’s honestly magical and is so creamy and smooth on your skin that I actually look forward to washing my face. Its key ingredients are Jabara Extract, which comes the Japanese citrus fruit and is packed with Vitamin C and polyphenols to fade dark spots and smooth fine lines. It also has grape extracts which helps with UV-related damage and Vitamin E which moistures for glowing skin.
2. Hydra Prep Tonic: This goes on right after cleansing. It has all the good stuff the cleanser has but also with a Pombe yeast derivative that visibly plumps your skin. It also helps your skin absorb whatever is coming next!
3. Deep Treatment Serum: This is the last step before a moisturizer. It helps to lock in the moisture leaving my skin looking and feeling instantly hydrated. This whole routine has me glowing!
